RenderCore Engine — Open-World Game Engine (GTA/RenderWare Style)

RenderCore is a complete C++ game engine inspired by the RenderWare architecture used in classic GTA titles. Built from scratch, it includes everything you need to create open-world games with a PS2-era aesthetic.

Core Features

  • Full 3D renderer (OpenGL) with particle system, framebuffer, and editor camera
  • Entity-Component System (ECS) via EnTT
  • Bullet Physics integration — vehicles, characters, ragdolls, joints
  • OpenAL audio engine with 3D positional sound

 Open-World Systems

  • NPC system with patrol, chase, perception cones and health bars
  • Traffic system, wanted system, weapon system
  • Mission system with trigger zones, cutscenes, HUD messages and minimap blips
  • NavMesh, road generator, weather system, world streaming
  • Vehicle enter/exit, inventory, pickup, save system

 Built-in Editor

  • Full ImGui-based editor with asset browser, inspector, gizmos
  • Mission editor, cutscene editor, traffic editor, UI editor
  • Lua scripting pipeline
  • PS2 ISO exporter — export your game directly to a playable PS2 disc! (In developpement)

Note: I wanted to recreate RenderWare so everyone could create great GTA-like games, but as the proverb says: "Greed loses all by trying to gain all."
